So confusing: Does Meiosis happen before or after Fertilization....?

uming no crossing-over, a human gamete will contain some chromosomes from the mother and some from the father, but NOT the same chromosomes. Meiosis results in a MIXTURE (but not a DUPLICATION) of genetic material in each gamete.
